Our club was founded in 1966 by a group of Kenner businessmen that wanted to help out their community. In our club’s 51 years, we have had members serve our District as Governor, the State as Multiple District Council Chairperson, Presidents of our Lions Eye Foundation, Children’s camp, and many other district and state offices.
We have hosted bingos, golf tournaments, craft fairs, had a rental hall, various dinners, luncheons, and breakfasts, and produced a cookbook.
We were the sponsoring club of a Lioness club, a Leo club, and sponsored several charter Lions clubs through the years. We proudly sponsored BSA Troop 221, and other youth organizations.
We have had a wide variety of fundraisers over the years and a list of community service activities that we are very proud of, including a Coats for Kids project, our dictionary project, hundreds of trees that our club has donated to schools and parks in our communities, as well as sponsoring many of people for our State Lions Eye Foundation and Children’s camp.
